  1. First of all I would like to say awesome blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and
clear your head prior to writing. I’ve had trouble clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out.
I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted simply
just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or hints?
    Many thanks!

    • Thanks for checking in on me. Sorry to take so long responding, but here is a few words about my process. I do not use an outline so I understand how you might have difficulty. Writing is not always an easy task. For myself, I spend a lot of time just thinking about my storyline and my characters. When I do sit down I review a chapter or two of what I have previously written. I sometimes start at the very beginning and read carefully to find anything that might not make sense. I correct and amend and revise as I read this way. That helps put the whole of the previous effort back into perspective. When I get to where I’ve left off I am then usually able to pick up the story line and move it forward, sometimes adding a new character as needed, or begin a sub plot or some added minor themes to make the storyline challenge the reader somewhat. As to losing 10-15 minutes each sitting, I’d say that’s not to bad. I sometimes sit longer than that trying to get the creative juices flowing. If it takes longer than that I get up do a bit of a walk around, get coffee or tea and sit down to try again. Keep on plugging away. Good luck. Regards
      Ron Stotyn, PhD
